"Five axiomatic propositions of Canadian Nationalism vis-a-vis the Americans:

1. Boy, we hate Americans.

2. We really do.

3. Really.

4. I'm not kidding. We really hate them.

5. So how come they never pay us any attention?"

--Will Ferguson, Why I Hate Canadians, Vancouver: Douglas & McIntyre, 1997, p.105.

The test doesn't lie. Inspired by Damian Penny's foray into religious meditation, I too have taken the "Belief-O-Matic" Test to learn which faith is most closely aligned with my personal beliefs. And, since the test doesn't include Reconstructionist Judaism as one of the choices, I've got to say that this test looks pretty darned accurate:

1. Reform Judaism (100%)
2. Unitarian Universalism (90%)
3. Sikhism (88%)
4. Liberal Quaker (85%)
5. Secular Humanism (77%)
6. Bahá'í (74%)
7. Neo-Paganism (70%)
8. Islam (69%)
9. Liberal Protestant (69%)
10. Orthodox Judaism (69%)
11. Atheism and Agnosticism (55%)
12. New Age (52%)
13. Jainism (51%)
14. Theravada Buddhism (49%)
15. Latter-day Saint (Mormon) (46%)
16. Scientology (46%)
17. Mahayana Buddhism (44%)
18. New Thought (44%)
19. Taoism (41%)
20. Hinduism (38%)
21. Orthodox Quaker (37%)
22. Conservative Protestant (32%)
23. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (31%)
24. Eastern Orthodox (30%)
25. Roman Catholic (30%)
26. Jehovah's Witness (23%)
27. Seventh Day Adventist (23%)

Damian Penny, a self-proclaimed "lapsed anglican," also boasted Reform Judaism as #1. See you in synagogue on Saturday, Damian!
